Question: Are cloth facemasks required to be worn in the City of Myrtle Beach?
Cloth facemasks are required in public places in Myrtle Beach, beginning Friday, July 3. It is a civil infraction, with a fine of up to $100 upon conviction for those not wearing a facemask when required. Residents and visitors, ages 10 and up are to wear a cloth facemask with limited exceptions at the following:
• Attractions
• Foodservice establishments
• Grocery Stores
• Gyms & Fitness Centers
• Pharmacies
• Professional Services
• Public spaces at overnight accommodations
• Retail stores
• Including any public locations not mentioned
Accommodation, restaurant, and retail staff must wear cloth facemasks whenever they are in public areas or working with the public.
Question: Are the city beaches open?
Public beach accesses are open, as are the paid parking areas adjacent to the beach. The order closing public access to the beach has been rescinded. Beachgoers must abide by strict social distancing practices. The beach will be policed to enforce these safety measures. Public beach access parking protocol resumes, with paid parking enforced for vehicles without a City of Myrtle Beach residential parking decal.

Yes, all parks are currently open.
Question: When are close contact service providers, gyms & public pools scheduled to reopen? The following listed below are open in a limited capacity while adhering to strict guidelines that can be found on the SC Government website https://governor.sc.gov/executive-branch/executive-orders :
Close contact service providers which include barbershops, hair salons, waxing salons, threading salons, nail salons and spas, body-art facilities and tattoo services, tanning salons, massage-therapy establishments, and massage services.
Commercial gyms, including group exercise facilities such as yoga studios, barre classes, and others along with public or commercial pools.
The state has developed general guidelines for close-contact service providers, along with specific guidelines for cosmetology establishments, gyms and fitness centers, and public or commercial pools. Question: When will the City of Myrtle Beach’s Recreation Centers reopen?
The City of Myrtle Beach’s Recreation Centers are open to members only. Virtual exercise classes continue through the City of Myrtle Beach – Parks, Recreation, and Sports Tourism YouTube channel. Members are limited to working out for only 30-minutes in the following rooms:
• Weight Room
• Cardio Room
• Indoor Track.
Showers are not available and swimming pools remain closed. See below for hours of operation.

No, Summer Camps are closed at Pepper Geddings and Mary C. Canty Recreation Center.
Question: Is there a curfew in the City of Myrtle Beach?
The city does not currently have a curfew.
Question: Are restaurants and bars open? If so when is “last call”?
As of Monday, May 11, Governor Henry McMaster announced restaurants may resume in-door dining with up to 50% of the restaurant’s occupancy rate while strictly following the guidelines listed below:
• Only allow 50% of posted occupancy inside, as determined by fire marshals
• Tables should be spaced 6-8 feet apart.
• Additional cleaning and sanitizing guidelines for equipment, tables, chairs, etc.
• Additional guidance for health checks for all employees.
• Social distancing guidance for employees and customers.
• No more than eight customers at each table.
“LAST CALL” ORDER PROHIBITS ALCOHOL SALES AT BARS AND RESTAURANTS AFTER 11:00 P.M.
Governor Henry McMaster announced an Executive Order on July 10, 2020, that prohibits alcohol sales after 11:00 p.m. at restaurants. Effective Saturday, July 11, 2020, is the order’s start date. This Executive Order is statewide and focuses on reducing the spread of COVID-19.
Question: Are church services still allowed?
The “maximum gathering rules” only apply to city, state, and government facilities. If the service is not held in any of those facilities, services can legally still happen. However, social distancing is strongly encouraged.
Question: Are the hotels, motels, and short-term rentals open?
Yes, the Governor has lifted the restrictions.
Question: What types of stores have been allowed to reopen?
Retail stores have re-open, strictly adhering to the social distancing guidelines and operating at 20% occupancy (or 5 customers per 1,000 sq. ft.). The following types of retail stores are open: furniture stores, home furnishing stores, clothing stores, jewelry stores, shoe and clothing accessory stores, luggage and leather goods stores, department stores, florists, sporting goods stores, bookstores, and craft and music stores.
